15: Do you currently have a Dream Dress?
Actually, I recently won an auction for the last “omg-need” dress on my list. Though I wouldn’t mind Juliette et Justine’s “Crucifixion” or Victorian Maiden’s “Fairy Chiffon”…
25: How does your family react to Lolita?
Quite well, they stopped caring a while ago. They still think I’m a bit odd, but in a good sense, I think ? Basically my father loves when I am dressed well and wearing hats and my mother thinks it costs too much. Yet they don’t pay for it. So I tell them it’s investment.
35: Do you have a favorite brand?
I do not have one… That’d be too easy. I love a whole lot of brands; surprisingly I’d say my favourite ones at the moment are Juliette et Justine, Victorian Maiden and Moi-même-Moitié. Because long stuff. And Triple Fortune for their wonderful hats.
36: Do you enjoy or are you annoyed with the attention that Lolita brings from onlookers?
I consider myself lucky on that matter since I wear mostly dark and it doesn’t scream “look at me” all that much. And when sometimes it does, I realize I stopped noticing people’s stares. It’s when we’re a group of lolitas that it becomes a bit annoying, since we’re much more noticeable. Fortunately, our group of friends is blessed with one wonderful lady who has mastered the art of castrating people with her words.
And you’re very welcome my dear, it is indeed quite interesting to answer (I hope it is not too bad to read, either). I thought I would get no ask, so I’m happy ! A wonderful day to you too ♥

1: How did you first get into Lolita?
Ah, a good one ! If only I remembered… Now, I remember some things, but not the whole story. I know I was very young, something like between 10 and 12, the first time I heard about lolita. And the first style I encountered was classic, I really loved Mary Magdalene at that time (whithout even knowing the name of the brand !). At 11 I fell in love with the Count Cain manga (which I still love nine years later), and Merryweather is the manga character that wears lolita the most perfectly, she made me want to wear skirts and cute stuff. Then when I turned 14 I made an account on one of the biggest french forums, Btssb opened their store in Paris the same year. There I really learned about lolita, but I was still enjoying gothic clothes; I decided to really invest in a lolita wardrobe when I was 16.
I think I got everything, eventually !

6: How many petticoats do you own?
Two… and a half : that is, a fluffy one for events, a long one, and a small, almost deflated one for everyday wear. And they’re all black. I should perhaps invest in a white one…
14: Do you still own your first Lolita piece?
No : my first piece was a AP-inspired black and white Bodyline OP, but at that time I really wasn’t interested in wearing the style often. What I consider to be my first “real” lolita piece was my Memorial Cake OP and I don’t own this one anymore, either.
17: To what extent has Lolita entered your lifestyle?
Now that I think about it, it takes quite a place in my everyday life, though I don’t consider it to be extremely important (I love fashion, but it’s just that, fashion.)
That being said, when I am looking for specific pieces to buy I can browse every second-hand store two times a day; also I wear lolita, say, something like three days a week. I enjoy taking part in lolita-related events with my friends, and, on that matter, it appears most of my close friends are related to the fashion in some way. Also it greatly inspires me photography-wise.
As for trying to live in accord to a certain lifestyle which would seem suitable for lolitas… I couldn’t do that, and chances are I never will.

50: Do you think you will wear Lolita into old age?
Certainly not strictly lolita, but I hope I still wear long chiffon dresses and gloves and hats because those are always suitable.
Though I will do my best to keep it as elegant as possible - there are quite a number of examples of old ladies wearing dresses and extravagant hats that just popped into my mind and they all involve bright colors and too much make-up, which is not really my cup of tea !
